Best Discovery Ever!

Grant has lots of talents. One of his talents is being really charming so that he gets what he wants- mostly when he's negotiating a price with the apartment complex, Goodwill, etc. Another one of his talents is uh... word improvisation skills? Basically this means that when he can't remember a word he just plugs in the closest word he can think of. It's highly entertaining.

Spring Creek BBQ has become Swaggly's, thawed has become dethawed, and there are lots of other words that I can't remember right now... One time Grant was trying to remember the name of our favorite movie theatre... Tilley Trolley? Well, that's pretty close to Tinseltown.
The best part? Today I discovered that there really is a Tilley Trolley!! Tilley the Trolley to be exact. According to the synopsis of the book, "Tilley the Trolley," "Read the story about the Tilley the Trolley who is rescued from a field by a young boy name Billy. Tilley is then restored and put into use at a trolley museum." We are definitely getting this book to read to our children!

Bobbleheadedness

I've been wanting to post on our blog this week but haven't had anything substantial to write about, only random things bobbling around in my head. I guess I have been thinking about the future a lot so here are some bobbleheaded, futuristic predictions for the future. I said future a lot in that sentence. There it is again! Snap.

-In the future, I will go to Jamba Juice because I just discovered that there is one near where we live.
-In the future, we will have a nephew named Gavin Kelsey McFarland-- Okay, maybe not the Kelsey part...
-In the future, I will prepare my sunbeams lesson before Sunday morning...
-In the future, I will be in a musical. A funny, silly musical.
-In the future, all of Grant's hair will be grey and he will look very distinguished, like George Clooney.
-In the future, Robbie will go on his mission and I will hate not being able to call him.
-In the future, I will have a master's degree.
-In the future, we will melt because it will be really hot in Texas.
-In the future, we won't melt because we won't live in Texas.
-In the future, I will beat Crash Bandicoot.
-In the future, we will have babies and name them cool things like Michael Angelo Tanner or our favorite, Poop Smif Tanner.... oh man.
-In the future, Grant & I will go to Mexico and visit people from his mission.
-In the future, I will get a Canon Rebel and take awesome pictures.

Well, that's probably enough predictions from my bobbly head. At least it's something to hold you over until we take pictures of something cool.

Happy Birthday Sleepy One!

Poor Grant keeps getting birthday phone calls. Well, I suppose I should clarify. It's not the birthday phone calls that are unfortunate. I'm sure he loves that. The unfortunate part is that it's only 10:00 and Grant has already been in bed for an hour. He is really sleepy and has to get up at 5:15 tomorrow. I'm not even sure he has heard the phone ringing the last few times as he hasn't even attempted to turn the noise off... (Oh, there was another ring. He silenced that one so they must be finally waking him up).

Hopefully he had a good birthday... I haven't had the chance to ask him yet. We celebrated in unconventional ways because our schedules were a bit crazy. We saw each other from 6:45-7:30 a.m. in between Grant's seminary class and work. He opened presents (they were all under different blankets) and we had birthday waffles for breakfast. We also saw each other for a half hour because I brought lunch for him at work. He was already asleep when I got home from the studio so I guess the jury is out on the good birthday/bad birthday verdict!

Oh and while I'm talking behind his back (or his pillow I suppose) here's a funny picture of him :)
